Mikroplastik – Entwicklung eines reproduzierbaren Protokolls zur Analyse von vier weit verbreiteten Polymeren mittels Pyrolyse-Gaschromatographie/Massenspektrometrie (Py-GC/MS)

Pyrolysis-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (Py-GC/MS) is a competitive technique that complements micro and nanoplastics characterization with identification and mass quantification data.

In this work, reproducible analytical protocol will be developed to study four major polymer particles (PS, PP, PE, and PET) in soil samples. Three major focuses are (1) to produce reliable calibration standards for Py-GC/MS, (2) to optimize pyrolysis conditions and (3) to investigate reliability of the accelerated solvent extraction (ASE) to extract microplastics in soil when a Py-GC/MS will be applied to study the microplastics.
