Palaeoenvironment and palaeoclimate of the Arabian Peninsula
A workshop at the Institute of Applied Geosciences
2025/07/25
As part of the ongoing research project on the palaeoenvironment and palaeoclimate of the Arabian Peninsula over the past 12,000 years, a scientific workshop was held on 15 and 16 July, organised by the Applied Sedimentary Geology working group at TU Darmstadt.

Experts from various disciplines came together to discuss new findings from the sediment archive of the now dried-up Layla Lakes based on biological, geochemical and sedimentological analyses.
A particular highlight was the strong interdisciplinary participation, with attendees from numerous research institutions including Berlin, Jena, Mannheim, Braunschweig, Aachen, Hamburg, and Barcelona.
The workshop provided a valuable platform for scientific exchange and served to coordinate ongoing investigations and plan future research steps.
