Installation of soil monitoring stations for solute transport processes

2023/09/14 by

As part of the WaRM project, five groundwater monitoring stations are in operation.

Four of these stations are dedicated to investigating reactive substance transport processes from the unsaturated zone into the groundwater. These stations consist of a 3-meter-deep shaft and a range of measurement and sampling facilities. The focus of these investigations includes reactive nitrogen species as well as pesticides among other solutes. At another station, the infiltration of nitrate and a comprehensive selection of organic trace substances from ditches influenced by treated wastewater discharges into the groundwater is being examined.
