Summary:

After the geological mapping course I the sedimentology working group supervises the mapping course II. Regularly, this course takes place on Fuerteventura, where a wide spectrum of volcanic, subvolcanic, plutonic rocks, but also marine, eolian, and alluvial sediments can be mapped and described. Alternatively, the course takes place in the western Carnic Alps, where low grade metamorphic sedimentary rocks of Ordovician to Devonian age are exposed and tectonically thrusted in a complex manner.
