Graduation Ceremony
The graduation ceremony for the TropHEE graduates regularly takes place in July, on the penultimate Friday before the end of the lecture period in the summer semester. We would like to celebrate your successful graduation and a new phase in your life together with you, your family members and friends in a festive atmosphere.

We cordially invite you to this year's graduation ceremony on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 15:30 h in the institute's lecture hall. The program will be as follows:

16:00 h Welcome (lecture hall 147)
16:15 h Keynote lecture: Dr. Collin J. Weber “Entangled earth: microplastics in soils and the responsibility we share”
16:45 h Graduation ceremony
17:30 h Students' contributions: “The Game of Geo – You Either Rock or Roll” and “From the Himalayas to Germany's Green Sector”
This year, we're once again combining the graduation ceremony with the institute's summer party, which will mark the end of the semester with snacks and drinks. All staff, graduates, alumni, and students of the institute are cordially invited.

My studies in the TropHEE programme created a solid knowledge base for my career and opened opportunities of work in Brazil, Saudi Arabia, and New Zealand. Working now as a consultant for nearly 10 years, I still use the expertise in hydrogeology and environmental management that I developed during my time at TU Darmstadt, for example developing and reviewing pumping tests, assessment of effects in groundwater or implementing new strategies for wastewater treatment. The staff and professors are great and I enjoy visiting them to catch up whenever I'm in Germany.
