Welcome Phase

Get started!

Our Welcome Phase consists of different courses, workshops and buddy programmes in order to ensure that our prospective students are well prepared for the TropHEE programme.

Ahmed from Egypt,
TropHEE student

In this course, with all our outward differences and where we come from, as far quarters in countries or regions, we share the privilege and perfect opportunity to be in such a spot in such a well-rounded programme. It's also up to all of us to really improve and lift this programme up so it harnesses and trains future students to go back to the society as doers, not only thinkers.

Pre-studies

Please follow this link (login and password is provided by the TropHEE office) and download the “learn_trophee.zip” file. When you open the file, all needed files are extracted in the folder you choose for the download. The preparation phase course can then be started by opening the start.exe.

Buddy Service and Regular’s Table

TropHEE students from previous years will offer a buddy service to help prospective students upon arrival in Germany in terms of dealing with authorities and daily life in a new environment. Also, a pick-up service from the central station of Darmstadt can be organized.

Furthermore, our digital TropHEE regular’s table allows a get-together of fellow students before start of their studies. Tutors will answer questions regarding student life, Darmstadt, the institute and registrations.

Intercultural Workshop

This workshop gives new students the opportunity to meet their classmates and learn about different cultures. First experiences as prospective students and with Germany will be shared. Our intercultural trainers impart skills adapted to the needs of intercultural teams. The workshop allows participants to create a culture of cooperation within the TropHEE group and to strengthen their personal team competences. For late arriving students an online version is being offered.
